What is silence? Is it negative? Are there any positives for being silent? Well to answer your question, silence can have positives and negatives depending on the situation. You often hear people say they are moving in silence. This may have many meanings. Most of the times those making that statement are in actuality really not moving in complete silence because guess what, they just told you or posted they were “moving” on social media. Not so silent after all huh?

What does it mean to move in silence? Generally, I look at it as doing something without be very vocal about it. Whether it’s being in a relationship, starting a new career, creating a new business, or even preparing to go on a trip. These are all things that people may be involved in as they “move in silence.” Many use the phrase simply to state they are keeping others out their business. There is nothing wrong with that either. This is extremely important because people can truly be negative toward others as they try to advance.

Everyone is not going to be on your cheering squad, so always be prepared for that. People will do anything to avoid supporting some people and they wonder why you left them behind in the beginning. Moving in silence to me also means formulating a plan. It’s important to have a plan in place before “the big reveal.” Take the time to get it all together before making it public. This doesn’t mean you can’t bring people along the way with you. Moving in silence does not necessarily mean you are moving by yourself. Like-minded individuals often work well together. How can moving in silence be negative?

Are you preparing to hurt someone? Are you plotting against the success of others? These type things are what I consider the negatives of moving in silence. Regardless of your meaning of moving in silence, let the impact be meaningful and positive. Let the results or the end achievement speak for itself. There is enough room for everyone to be successful. They say when you build in silence, the enemy doesn’t know what to attack! Don’t hold back wondering what others will say and if you have to do it by yourself, don’t be afraid. Regardless how you move, just move!!!!! Just because you don’t broadcast your every move, doesn’t mean you are not moving.
