People often forget that others can not have more control over your life than you give them. Why did you choose your career path? Why did you make that life decision? Why did you decide to have a family? Why did you apply for that other job? Why did you go back to school? Why did you buy that house? Were all of these things to satisfy others? I would hope not. Don’t let others control or direct your path. People may talk negatively about you and even say things that are not truthful, but the reality is you must continue to walk in faith and never give up on your hopes and aspirations.

I often look back on certain situations and ask why. I am not saying people can’t help you be successful or help you meet your goals. I am saying you are ultimately responsible for you so know that others are not the reason you are where you are or who you are. Some of the same ones that stand before you whether personally or professionally, will also stab you in then back. I’ve always appreciated the words “keep your friends close and enemies closer!” I tweeted the following today

People will think they are blocking you from progressing, when they are actually placing stones under your feet to step up to bigger and better things!

Use them as a stepping stone to move forward in life. They are not the reason you do what you do, but thank them anyway because they say love your haters because they are your biggest fans!!!
