We all know there are people and things we do not like in our lives and careers. That’s life! There are many unhappy people out there that can be very toxic. The truth of the matter is, some have valid reasons to be upset but negativity doesn’t change the situation. We are all not going to agree but it is important to respect the viewpoints of others. If you do not like someone’s viewpoint, don’t be toxic and attempt to get others to agree with you. If you can professionally express your thoughts, do so, but do not be hostile in doing so.

As an educator I personally know the viewpoints of others in my field will always differ and that is okay. If you feel yourself upset and angry about something remember that the students should be at the core of every decision you make! As the upcoming school year begins, strive to spread positivity this year. Do not let negativity guide you and do not be toxic. Do not be the one always complaining or always attempting to be the voice for others. Find ways to work in harmony with others. Do not feel like you are in competition with your coworkers. The culture of your school or office will determine your success.

Until you remove toxic people from your life or until you become non-toxic, you will see no growth. Let it and them go so that you may grow!!!
